Both coach Vigna and the young men that he and coach Lovich selected for their program were quality people. I also announced the home games of the Patriots for most of the years that I was on staff. To this day I remain loyal and proud of FHS and the efforts of staff members to bring about the academic and emotional maturation of young people. I will always be a proud Franklin Patriot. I taught at this high school for 32 years. Both coach Vigna and the young men that he and coach Lovich selected for their program were quality people. To be a Patriot football player in the early years was a thrill and on honor. Coach Bob Bentley made men out of boys, and we left it all on the field every game for him, his staff and our school. It's nice to know we are still the best defensive team ever, and near the top on offense. I know there have been some super teams and great players throughout the years...congratulations to all of them! The best ever in my mind is still the 1964 team....Sam Antonazzo; Bernie Carbo; Roger Frayer; Ken Bratherton; Larry Vaughn (captain of the best defense ever); Steve Karnish; Mike Stachurski; Larry Yonish; Bill Mauzy and many more of the toughest and best guys I've ever known! The 45 year reunion is next year...maybe we can run a few plays! 132 power forever!! This is the first time I have seen this site and it is great!! Keep up the good work!
